Subhadrakalyan is a multi-talented young musician, composer, journalist, essayist, and poet with training in Tabla, Dhrupad, Kheyal, and Sarode.
Subhadrakalyan started learning the Tabla at the age of three and is fortunate to have Acharya Shankar Ghosh and Pandit Bickram Ghosh as his Gurus; he has learned Dhrupad from Pandit Uday Bhawalkar, Vocal from Ustad Jainul Abedin, Pandit Omkar Dadarkar, and Vidushi Sanjukta Ghosh, and Sarode from Dr. Rajeeb Chakraborty.

His Singing Beats is a proper juxtaposition of all the forms of music he has learned. His application of Dhrupad in the Alaap is appreciable.
In this recital, he will play two-morning ragas, Bibhas and Dhaivati.
He will play Deskar-ang of Bibhas with the Shudh Dhaivat in the scale, something quite unusual.
Raag Dhaivati is his invention. He constructed the raga back in 2016 when he went to Delhi to attend a national meet of young musicians. While practicing the raga Bairagi-Bhairav for his concert, the Shudh-Dhaivat Tabla resonated when he struck on the Madhyam Tabla. He later found out;  it was due to the tonic-median relation that worked.
Subhadrakalyan will be accompanied on the Taalvadya by Sri Sudhir Ghorai, a senior musician in the fraternity and an All India Radio artist.
